Our Opportunity

Work Location : Eliwana -   Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster : 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth

Eliwana is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Fixed Plant Mechanical Leading Hand to join the OPF Maintenance Team. This role is responsible for providing frontline leadership and technical support to the mechanical maintenance team, ensuring fixed plant maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance, support workforce execution and drive equipment reliability, team performance and continuous improvement across the OPF.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide frontline leadership, direction and technical support to mechanical maintainers
• Coordinate planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance across fixed plant equipment
• Allocate daily work activities and ensure maintenance priorities are safely executed
• Support fault finding, component change-outs, overhauls and equipment rebuilds
• Ensure work orders, notifications and maintenance documentation are accurately completed in SAP
• Lead pre-starts, risk assessments and field interactions to reinforce safe work practices
• Support shutdown execution, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain compliance with Fortescue safety, operational and maintenance standards

Qualifications and Experience

• Trade qualification - Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
• Demonstrated fixed plant maintenance experience within mining or heavy industry
• Previous leadership, supervisory or senior trades experience in a maintenance environment
• Strong knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and processing equipment
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and maintenance planning capability
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment or ability to meet appointment requirements (highly regarded)
• Strong commitment to safety, team leadership and operational performance
