Your Impact

Administer and execute environmental compliance programs, supervise audits and inspections, assess and deliver performance metrics, maintain regulatory alignment, liaise with regulatory bodies, deliver training, collaborate with teams, handle incident responses, complete regulatory reports, and supervise continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and sustainability.

In this role, the individual will

• Execute and administer environmental compliance programs across the organization.
• Supervise environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assess and Report on environmental performance metrics and compliance status.
• Maintain alignment of environmental practices with local, national, and international regulations
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to stay informed on compliance requirements.
• Deliver training to team members on environmental regulations and compliance standards.
• Handle the response to environmental incidents and administer corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to administer environmental compliance into operational processes.
• Prepare and deliver regulatory reports and documentation on environmental compliance.
• Supervise continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental compliance and sustainability.
• Prerequisites for your success in this role
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Master's degree and/or professional certifications in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Compliance, or related disciplines are preferred.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental management systems, regulatory affairs, environmental program implementation, responding to regulatory and environmental inspections, and managing environmental commitments to ensure ongoing compliance.

At least 2 years of experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional environmental initiatives.

Environmental Compliance and Regulatory Management: Advanced knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, permits, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations, with demonstrated experience implementing, managing, and monitoring environmental compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.

Environmental Management Systems: Working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS), including ISO 14001 standards, performance metrics, compliance tracking tools, and environmental reporting processes.

Leadership and Team Development: Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, develop, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports, present findings to management, collaborate with regulatory agencies, and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Your work environment

• The position will require travel to appropriate locations (Mostly Cajamarca/Site and Lima) to support the operation
• The position will require periodic living in the Yanacocha camp.
• The person must be in good health and physical condition to work in the field in various climatic conditions and at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters above sea level.
• The incumbent may be required to travel and assist other sites nationally and internationally.
