Maintenance & Trades

Maintenance hiring is trade specific: fixed plant and mobile plant are separate markets, and reliability and planning roles sit apart again. Trade certification plus the OEM fleet you have worked on decides the shortlist.

Gold

Gold operations run from large open pits to narrow vein underground mines, with processing usually built around CIL, CIP or heap leach. The sector hires steadily through price cycles because operations are widely spread across Australia, West Africa and the Americas.

FIFO

FIFO roles fly you from a nominated point of hire to site and back on a set roster, with accommodation, meals and flights covered while you are on swing. The roster, the point of hire and whether even time is offered are the three things worth checking before applying.
